We are pleased to also present Phillip Shabazz, Poet who will hold a 2-week residency in Northampton County in the month of February. During his two-week residency, he will be broadening the minds of Northampton County Middle School students' experiences with poetic expression. His residency is funded by NC Arts Council Grassroots Grant.

The purpose of the Northampton County Cultural Arts Committee is to make the arts accessible to all citizens by preserving culture and fostering the growth and development of artists and the arts through education, outreach and shared experience.

The Northampton County Quilt Trail began as an idea in 2015. With grant funding from the N.C. Dept. of Commerce and management by the Piedmont Conservation Council, the trail has become a reality.

The ultimate goal is for a continuous Quilt Trail that travels throughout the North Carolina Piedmont. Presently the counties participating are Northampton, Person, Randolph, and Rockingham.
